Recently, we have added Codi Tripp to the shoeing team. Codi works side by side with Northwest Equine to help with even the most difficult shoeing problems. With Codi’s experience he is able to custom make shoes and pads to the vets specifications. From the trail horse to the Grand Prix horse. Codi has become a valuable team member to keeping our horses sound and moving to peak performance.
Codi began his farrier career in the Bay Area California in the late 90’s. He dedicated himself to a intensive 4 year apprenticeship including 4 credits of equine science, and graduated from Pacific Coast School of Horseshoeing Sacramento CA. He assisted some of the top English sport horse farriers in Northern and Southern California as well as attending a host of continuing education classes and clinics throughout California.
In 2001 his quest for education in the farrier science took him to Phoenix Az where he concentrated on Arabian and Gaited show horses. Working alongside and in conjunction with the industries premier gaited horse farriers, and Veterinarians alike focusing on gait, movement, high scale lameness and sport related injuries.
In 2007 Codi acted on an opportunity to relocate to Tryon N.C. to concentrate primarily on shoeing and managing competing Hunter Jumper and dressage horses. During his travels up and down the eastern sea board I was able to take advantage of being able to work at some of the most iconic shows and podiatry centers in the world. Codi is continually awed and grate grateful for what this wonderful profession and the horse has provided for him.
In 2011, he relocated to beautiful Seattle full time after falling in love with the area on an impromptu trip. Since that time Codi have been fortunate enough to work with and befriend many of the amazing professionals, athlete’s, and equestrians in the PNW. During this time of building a locally focused business, Codi became engaged, married and began building a home and family.
